These now went ashore and the men from Talthybius willingly agreed to work their passage and get the ship away. Their casualties had been a Chinese steward killed, a seaman gunner badly burned and a 1st radio officer injured ashore during an air raid a few days previously, who had to be left in hospital, not fit to travel.
