The role of critical social science is to supply methods for making explicit just the sort of self-examination necessary for on-going normative regulation of social life. In 2002 efforts were initiated to convert the interdisciplinary Graduate Concentration in Gerontology into a Certificate Program in order to place it on a common footing with other interdisciplinary certificate programs at KU.
